The Heart and Vision Behind Middle Eastern Meditation

When you walk into a Middle Eastern Meditation event, you’ll feel something different—a sense of groundedness, warmth, and deep purpose. That spirit begins with the founder herself, Sarah Yadegari.

Born and raised in Los Angeles with roots stretching across the Middle East, Sarah brings a rare fusion of ancient wisdom and modern mindfulness to every corner of her nonprofit. A certified meditation guide, cultural connector, and fierce advocate for mental health in the region, Sarah created Middle Eastern Meditation with a bold mission: to help soldiers and civilians in the Middle East heal from PTSD and trauma using the power of meditation, music, and movement.

Why She Started

Sarah’s journey began not in a yoga studio, but in war zones—through stories, family history, and firsthand experiences working with those affected by conflict. “I saw a deep need for healing that went beyond politics, beyond language. I wanted to offer something practical, something soulful,” she says.

After years of studying meditation and trauma recovery techniques, she launched Middle Eastern Meditation as both a passion project and a personal calling. What began as small gatherings in LA has now grown into a full-fledged movement—hosting mindful mixers, guided sessions, and fundraisers to raise awareness and financial support for soldiers battling PTSD.

Her Approach

Sarah’s methodology is unique. “We don’t do silent retreats in monasteries,” she laughs. “We do music-driven meditation, embodied movement, and community-centered connection. Healing should be accessible, dynamic, and joyful—even when it’s hard.”

Her events often feature live DJs, traditional instruments, and open-hearted conversations that feel more like home than therapy. It’s not just about sitting still—it’s about moving through pain, celebrating resilience, and remembering your roots.

Giving Back

One of the core values Sarah instilled in Middle Eastern Meditation is giving with intention. Every dollar raised through events goes directly to supporting trauma therapy programs for soldiers in the Middle East. “Our community in LA is helping our extended family across the ocean. That’s the beauty of collective healing.”

What’s Next

Sarah has big plans—more retreats, collaborations with international therapists, and digital programs that bring meditation to people who’ve never had access before. But at the heart of it all is the same simple belief: healing is possible, and it starts with breath, community, and love.
